Beck: The Album We Never Heard

Beck has released a barrage of incredible music – everything from Odelay to Sea Change, and Midnite Vultures to Geuro. “The four-time platinum artist rose to underground popularity with his early works, which combined social criticism with musical and lyrical experimentation. Beck is known for creating musical collages of a wide range of styles.” (wikipedia)

How cool is it that Beck’s newest album, Song Reader, is completely silent? Well, sort of. Song reader is made up of “twenty songs existing only as individual pieces of sheet music, never before released or recorded.”

Fans and musicians have already gotten involved by recording themselves playing Beck’s never-before-heard music at songreader.net. It’s amazing to hear how much of Beck comes through, even when somebody else is playing and singing a song we’ve never heard.
