NEW CONCERT FLYER
After making several concert posters, album art, and even a Christmas card for their band, John-Ross Boyce and His Troubles are still asking for more!
The band has a set of shows coming up next weekend–one is a 21-and-older electric set, and the other an acoustic set at Velour. He wanted a poster with a two-headed creature, showing off the band’s versatility, and the double-show weekend.
After trying my hand at some monsters and working the text into the design, I came up with the above poster. What do you think?

They’re each very different from the other & both look like trouble. Well done
If I had to nit-pick, I’d say the band name looks like it was written with a guideline, then given a slight rotation digitally – which isn’t a problem, except the angle of the lettering clashes ever so slightly with the angle of the letters in the show name, ‘Double Trouble.’ Er… ‘to my eye’ it clashes; it might not to someone else. Apart from that, the typography (your hand?) suits nicely.
You’re right! The band name might be a little too neat, a little too straight. Each design is its own learning opportunity – thanks for the suggestion!
